1 Why should my institution
hire MASTER EXCHANGE Study Abroad's services?
First and foremost, we are local experts, familiar with the intricacies
and subtleties of working within this culture, experienced in working
with foreign students and in cross-cultural issues. We have developed
the academic and professional network of contacts necessary to deliver
unique programs; programs that are either designed by our management
team or co-designed with our clients. Furthermore, as a service,
we offer a flexibility that most institutions could not. We are
not bound by academic calendars, big bureaucracies, or university
politics. We cater first and foremost to our clients and their students.
Finally, contracting MASTER EXCHANGE services reduces our client's
overall program expenses and overseas costs. Our clients save money
in bank transfers, local taxes, and hiring and supporting a foreign
staff overseas. In addition, our clients only pay for the programs
that run, and do not have to support an infrastructure when programs
are cancelled.
2 Do we (institutions, universities, study
abroad programs) need to send a director or a coordinator to lead
and manage the group?
Not necessarily: MASTER EXCHANGE will assign a Program Coordinator
for each group. The Coordinator serves as the link between your
institution, the students and the MASTER EXCHANGE´S staff.
Depending on the program, it may be advantageous to have a foreign
representative, although we have found those candidates that we
choose, who are familiar with the language, city and culture, are
best qualified for these positions.
3 Can program components be organized
seperately? Can excursions or volunteer work be added to existing
programs?
Yes. We are not limited to offering only an entire package. We can
offer language courses, seminars, excursions, internships, etc on
a demand basis. We consult with our clients and are always open
to new suggestions or recommendations.
4 As foreign entities, we've always had
problems transferring money overseas, especially to Latin America
- can you facilitate that process?
There are strict regulations governing how and how much money foreign
institutions can send to Latin American banks. There are financial
restrictions, legal obstacles, and tax issues. By contracting MASTER
EXCHANGE, all these problems are avoided. Transfers are business
to business, and all the legal and tax issues are thereby resolved.
5 Are there restrictions on the number
of students per programs? Either a maximum or a minimum?
No, we have both the physical and capital resources to run programs
of large numbers. We prefer to keep language classes and seminars
small (less than 8 for language and less than 20 for seminars),
but can accommodate large groups as well; of course there are financial
benefits to sending larger groups.
